Green Bay – In an effort to further control the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) into our hospitals as well as throughout our communities, Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is updating visitor policies at the following hospitals, effective Thursday, Oct. 22:
  • HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay
  • HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital, Green Bay
  • HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, Green Bay
  • HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan
  • HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls

There will be no visitors allowed to our inpatient units, except for:
  • Women and Infants may have one (1) support person and one (1) doula as a part of their care team. They must stay in the patient room at all times.
  • Pediatric inpatients under the age of 18 may have two (2) parents or guardians present. They must stay in the patient room at all times.
  • HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital NICU patients may have two (2) parents within the unit, but visitation may be limited to only one (1) parent at the bedside at a time.
  • All patients nearing end-of-life will have special arrangements made on a case-by-case basis.

Emergency department adult patients may have one (1) approved visitor with the patient for their duration in the emergency department. If the adult patient becomes admitted, inpatient restrictions will apply, and no visitors will be allowed. COVID-19 positives or persons under investigation (PUI) will not have visitors unless special circumstances are necessary.

Emergency department pediatric patients may have two (2) parents or guardians present for their duration in the emergency department.

For outpatient appointments and/or procedures, including pediatric patients, one (1) approved adult visitor may be with the patient for the duration of their procedure or clinical visit. If the patient becomes admitted, inpatient restrictions will apply, and no visitors will be allowed.

All approved visitors must be over the age of 18 and will continue to be screened upon entering the facility for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure. Visitors approved for entry into the hospital(s) must adhere to following guidelines:
  • Wear a facemask that covers the nose and mouth at all times; a face shield is not acceptable in place of a mask.
  • Use hand sanitizer to clean hands upon entering the hospital, entering a patient room and prior to exiting a patient room.
  • Remain in patient room or in space designated by hospital colleague

If additional family members have concerns or questions, they can call our hospitals; we know how important it is for loved ones to be able to connect with their patients during times of need. In an effort minimize interruptions to bedside caregivers, we do ask each patient to designate one individual who can serve as the spokesperson to their friends/family. This individual will be able to call the nurse and receive detailed updates on the patient’s status.

We do encourage loved ones to call their patient’s room for a telephone visit, use cell phones to text, call or video chat with them. The main numbers for our hospitals are below and an operator can connect them to patients’ rooms:
  • HSHS St. Vincent: (920) 433-0111
  • HSHS St. Mary’s: (920) 498-4200
  • HSHS St. Nicholas: (920) 459-8300
  • HSHS St. Clare Memorial: (920) 846-3444
