Green Bay – Therese Pandl, President and CEO of Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) – Eastern Wisconsin Division, is the recipient of the 2019 Distinguished Service Award which recognizes senior executives who have made an exemplary commitment to the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) and the communities they serve.
The HSHS – Eastern Wisconsin Division includes HSHS St. Vincent Hospital and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay, HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan and HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls. Therese was nominated for the WHA’s Distinguished Service Award by the HSHS – Eastern Wisconsin Division executive leadership team, which stated the following in their nomination letter for the award:
“Therese has been involved in the Green Bay community through her work with St. Norbert College students, St. John’s Homeless Shelter, Habitat for Humanity and numerous hospital-based initiatives to improve the quality of life for the people of this area. She leads with the best interest of others in mind, supports all efforts to promote health and wellness in our region, and is particularly committed to the care of children as evidenced by her leadership in developing HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital as a local leading provider for families in our area.”
Therese is also committed to mentoring future leaders and encouraging more women to take leadership roles. She is active in Vistage III, a peer mentoring organization, and is a regular mentor to seven St. Norbert College business students.
“Therese truly embodies the spirit of the Distinguished Service Award,” said Eric Borgerding, WHA President and CEO. “We are grateful for her dedication to health care in Wisconsin and involvement in the Wisconsin Hospital Association.”
Therese has served on the WHA Board of Directors since 2012, and served as Board Chair in 2015-2016. She has also served on various WHA councils, work groups and committees, and is part of the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board. The WHA’s mission is to advocate for the ability of its members to lead in the provision of high-quality, affordable and accessible health care services, resulting in healthier Wisconsin communities.
