Green Bay, Wis. – HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital is pleased to announce it will open a new, state-of-the-art pediatric emergency center in early October.
Located within the emergency department of HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, 835 S. Van Buren St. in Green Bay, the HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital K.C. and Georgia Stock Pediatric Emergency Center will provide emergency care services to children of all ages, 24/7. The center offers a play area, waiting room and 6 patient rooms specifically designed for children. The whimsical design of the center carries a theme that reflects the natural beauty of Wisconsin’s Northwoods.
“HSHS St. Vincent Hospital has been providing exceptional, 24/7 emergency care for children for decades, and continues to do so today,” said Heidi Warpinski, Executive Director of HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital. “Now, thanks to the generous support of K.C. and Georgia Stock, as well as many other donors who have made our new pediatric emergency center possible, we will be able to provide an enhanced level of care, comfort and experience for the thousands of children who receive emergency care at our hospital each year.”
HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital, established in 2015 as a “hospital within a hospital” at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, announced the development of the new pediatric emergency center in February 2019, during a public launch of the Join the Fight campaign to raise $10 million to transform four units within the children’s hospital: emergency care, pediatric and pediatric intensive care, and Child Life. Construction on the pediatric emergency center began in late 2018, thanks to early support for the campaign. Renovations on the remaining three units are anticipated to begin in November.
The new play area and waiting room will open, and patient care in the HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital K.C. and Georgia Stock Pediatric Emergency Center will begin Thursday, Oct. 3. (Pediatric emergency care at the hospital will still be provided 24/7, prior to Oct. 3.) Patients will be able to access the new center through the HSHS St. Vincent Hospital emergency department, located inside the Webster Ave. entrance of the hospital.
