October 29, 2026

HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular welcomes Caleb Ham, PA-C, a physician assistant specializing in general cardiology, to Prairie Cardiovascular-Springfield at 619 E. Mason St.

Ham provides care for patients with a broad range of heart conditions. His work in general cardiology includes initial cardiac evaluations, diagnostic workups and ongoing management for patients living with cardiovascular concerns. Whether someone is being seen for the first time or following up on a long-term condition, Ham works closely with the cardiology team at Prairie Cardiovascular to deliver thorough, coordinated care. His presence on the team strengthens access to cardiology services for patients across the Springfield area.

Clear communication is central to how Ham approaches patient care. He believes explaining a diagnosis and treatment plan in straightforward language is just as important as the plan itself. Ham takes time to answer questions, walk patients through their options and make sure they feel confident about the path forward. His focus on practical guidance and patient education helps patients take an active role in managing their heart health for the long term.

Ham earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in biomedical science from Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho, and a Master of Science (MS) in physician assistant studies from Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky. During his clinical training, he completed a cardiology rotation focused on evaluating and managing patients with cardiovascular conditions. He holds Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification and speaks Spanish in addition to English.

With Ham joining the HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular team, Springfield-area families have even greater access to trusted, patient-focused cardiology close to home.
