Dr. George Eigbire Joins Prairie Cardiovascular

Prairie Cardiovascular and HSHS Medical Group welcome George Eromosele Eigbire, MD, a board-certified interventional cardiologist, to Prairie Cardiovascular, 619 East Mason St. in Springfield.
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Eigbire evaluates and treats a wide range of cardiovascular conditions which involves managing complex and chronic heart disease. He has a special interest in the reduction of morbidity and mortality commonly associated with critical limb ischemia via proactive treatment of peripheral arterial disease. His work includes diagnostic testing, preventive care and minimally invasive procedures, with an approach to care that emphasizes clear communication and practical decision-making in partnership with his patients.
Dr. Eigbire earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Debrecen Medical School and Health Science Center in Debrecen, Hungary. He completed an internal medicine residency at Rochester Regional Health/Unity Hospital in Rochester, New York. He went on to complete a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, followed by interventional cardiology training at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. Afterwards, he spent time in Mississippi deepening his knowledge in the management of the peripheral arterial disease epidemic.
