Dr. Mostafa Vasigh joins Prairie Cardiovascular in Springfield

Prairie Cardiovascular and HSHS Medical Group welcome Mostafa Vasigh, MD, an interventional and structural cardiologist, to Prairie Cardiovascular – Springfield at 619 E. Mason St. His addition helps expand access to specialized cardiology care for patients in Springfield and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Vasigh cares for adults with complex cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and structural heart disease. His work includes interventional cardiology and advanced heart care that may use minimally invasive procedures, cardiac imaging and catheter-based therapies. Patients may see him for evaluation, treatment planning and care designed to improve heart function and support long-term health.
With a focus on clear communication and patient involvement, Dr. Vasigh works with patients and their families to help them understand their condition and treatment options. Dr. Vasigh earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. He completed an internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He also completed fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, adult echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. His training supports a thoughtful approach to diagnosing and managing heart disease, including conditions that may require advanced imaging or specialized procedures.
