Prairie Cardiovascular and HSHS Medical Group welcome Ro-Kaye Simmonds, MD, an interventional cardiologist, to Prairie Cardiovascular-Carbondale at 409 W. Oak St.
Dr. Simmonds provides advanced heart care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. Patients can see her for concerns such as chest pain, coronary artery disease, heart failure and other heart health needs. Her work in interventional cardiology focuses on helping patients understand their condition and access clear treatment options when more specialized care is needed.
Simmonds’ care philosophy is rooted in compassionate listening, patient education and excellence in cardiovascular care. She is passionate about helping patients prevent, understand and manage heart disease. Dr. Simmonds works with each patient by explaining care options in practical terms, building trust and supporting shared decisions that reflect each person’s needs and goals.
Dr. Simmonds earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Bachelor of Medical Sciences from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. She completed an internal medicine residency, cardiovascular disease fellowship training and interventional cardiology fellowship training.
