HSHS names Chief Technology Officer

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), a leading Catholic health ministry with operations in Illinois and Wisconsin, announced today that Joe Clark has been named its Chief Technology Officer. Clark will lead the system's technology strategy, infrastructure and digital platforms across HSHS hospitals and clinics in Illinois and Wisconsin, beginning Sept. 14.
Clark brings more than 30 years of experience in enterprise technology strategy and architecture, with deep expertise in cloud innovation, artificial intelligence adoption and governance, and aligning technology investments with organizational priorities.
He joins HSHS from Microsoft, where he served since 2018 as strategic account technology strategist for two of the company's largest global accounts, leading enterprise-wide cloud and AI transformation efforts. Prior to Microsoft, Clark spent 18 years at IBM in roles including Watson and cloud platform architect, client technical lead and IT architect, advising clients across manufacturing, insurance and state government. He began his career at Levi, Ray & Shoup in Springfield, where he rose to principal consultant and led the firm's data warehousing and business intelligence practice.
Clark earned a Bachelor of Science in business computer management from Eastern Illinois University and completed master's-level coursework in management information systems at the University of Illinois Springfield.
