HSHS names System Vice President, Marketing and Communications

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), a leading Catholic health ministry with operations in Illinois and Wisconsin, announced today that Charmaine Weis, MSML, has been named System Vice President. Marketing and Communications.
Weis joined HSHS in February 2024 as the System Director of Marketing and Brand Experience and has been serving as Interim Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer since August.
She has nearly 30 years of experience in health care, specializing in building collaborative marketing and communications teams, growing volume through service line marketing, corporate communications, change management, colleague and patient engagement initiatives, brand transformation, strategic planning and much more.
“My passion is to advance patient-centered care and enhance brand loyalty through colleague engagement, consumer and patient experience,” Weis said. “I feel extremely blessed to serve at HSHS as I’m connected to our Core Values and history. As we are in this midst of the 150th anniversary of our Hospital Sisters of St. Francis’ beginning their ministry in America, I am also excited to be part of year 151 and beyond as we work to sustain their mission."
Prior to joining HSHS, Weis was Associate Vice President at one of the nation’s Top 10 healthcare communications firms, Jarrard Inc., from October 2019 to February 2024, where she developed strategic communication strategies for over 100 health care projects nationally. She also served as Director of Marketing and Communications at SCL Health, from January 2006 to October 2019, where she played a key role in integrating Platte Valley Medical Center into SCL Health and implemented wide-ranging marketing and PR strategies.
Earlier in her career, Weis co-owned a full-service marketing firm, Creative Marketing Solutions-A Weis Solution, and began her communications career as a specialist in the corporate sector.
She holds a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Media Studies and Marketing from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
