Experienced Surgical PA Joins HSHS Medical Group General Surgery Team in Springfield

HSHS Medical Group welcomes Christina "Chrissy" Kelley, PA-C, a physician assistant specializing in general surgery, to HSHS Medical Group General Surgery – Springfield at 300 N. Eighth St., Fifth Floor, in the HSHS St. John's Hospital Pavilion.

Kelley assists with a wide range of surgical procedures, including hernia repairs, gallbladder removal and breast cancer surgeries such as lumpectomies and mastectomies. She provides care using robotic, laparoscopic and open surgical approaches and manages patients before, during and after surgery to support healing and recovery.

Her approach is hands-on and patient-centered. Kelley takes time to build a relationship with each patient, explain treatment options and answer questions so patients can make informed decisions about their health. Whether preparing a patient for surgery or guiding them through recovery, she focuses on clear communication and practical support at every step. Kelley earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in health science from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, and a Master of Medical Science (MMS) in physician assistant studies from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
