Physician of the Month

Robert Schaefer, MD

HSHS Medical Group is pleased to award Robert Schaefer, MD, with our August Provider of the Month Award. Dr. Schaefer is a family medicine physician at HSHS Medical Group Family & Internal Medicine in Highland, Illinois.

The Physician of the Month is chosen from nominations submitted by fellow HSHS Medical Group team members. “Dr. Schaefer’s patients always say how much they love him and how wonderful he is,” his nominator said. “He truly cares about his patients, and it shows in how he speaks and listens to them.”

When asked what his favorite part of her job is, Dr. Schaefer said, “The people I work with.” He says, “I connect well with my patients and respond to their needs.  I respect colleagues and I truly care for my patients. My guiding principle is to treat everyone as if they were my family.”

When Dr. Schaefer has some free time, he enjoys spending it with his children.­

Colleague of the Month

Jennifer Clarkin

HSHS Medical Group is pleased to award Jennifer Clarkin with our August Colleague of the Month Award. Jennifer is registrar at HSHS Medical Group Family and Internal Medicine in Highland, Illinois.

The Colleague of the Month is chosen from nominations submitted by fellow HSHS Medical Group team members. “Jennifer goes above and beyond for our patients,” her nominator said. “She is very sincere in her interactions and greets each patient with a smile and warm welcome.”

When asked what her favorite part of her job is, Polly said, “I truly love my job, the awesome team I get to work with daily and making each patient feel welcomed.” She said, “I am a people person and enjoy the daily interactions with our patients and love that I get to work with a great team. I always treat every patient and colleague with respect and appreciation while keeping a positive attitude.”

In her free time, Jennifer loves going to hockey games with her husband, “GO BLUES!” She also enjoys camping with friends and taking long walks with her lab, Sadie Mae.
