Neurology Nurse Practitioner Joins HSHS Medical Group in Decatur

HSHS Medical Group welcomes Mindy Hartwig, APRN, a neurology nurse practitioner, to HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care – Decatur at 1730 E. Lake Shore Drive.
Hartwig cares for patients with conditions affecting the brain, nerves and muscles. She evaluates and manages migraines, memory and cognitive concerns, movement disorders, peripheral neuropathy and conditions that affect balance and gait. Her focus is on helping patients understand their diagnosis and working with them to develop a practical care plan.
With more than 19 years of nursing experience in high-acuity clinical settings, Hartwig brings a calm, detail-oriented approach to every patient visit. She takes time to listen, explains treatment options clearly and involves patients in decisions about their health.
Hartwig earned a Master of Science in nursing (MSN) from St. John's College of Nursing in Springfield, Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois. She is board certified as an advanced practice nurse through the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
