New Family Medicine Physician Joins HSHS Medical Group in O'Fallon

HSHS Medical Group welcomes Ruth Turkson, MD, a board-certified family medicine physician, to HSHS Medical Group Family Medicine - O'Fallon at 1512 N. Green Mount Road, Suite 108.
Dr. Turkson provides comprehensive family medical care from children to older adults. She helps patients stay healthy through preventive visits and wellness screenings, supports those managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, and provides care for weight management, anxiety, depression and women's health concerns. Her training in both inpatient and outpatient settings gives her a broad perspective on caring for the whole person.
Patients can expect clear communication, plain-language explanations and involvement in decisions about their care. Dr. Turkson's goal is to build lasting relationships so she can help individuals and families stay well through every stage of life.
Dr. Turkson earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B.) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. She completed a family medicine residency in O'Fallon where her training included pediatrics, women's health, geriatric care and hospital medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
