New neurology provider brings patient-focused care to Decatur

HSHS Medical Group welcomes Lindsay Henderson, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, a family nurse practitioner, to neurology care at HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care Decatur, 1730 E. Lake Shore Drive. Henderson will care for patients with neurological concerns, helping support evaluation, follow-up care, education and ongoing management of conditions that affect the brain, nerves and nervous system.
For patients and families, neurological concerns can affect daily life in many ways, from movement and memory to pain, balance and independence. Henderson was drawn to neurology because of the complexity of the field and the opportunity to help patients improve their quality of life. She values education, problem-solving and long-term relationships that can develop as patients move through their care. Her approach focuses on listening, clear communication and helping patients and families understand their condition, treatment options and next steps.
Henderson earned a Master of Science in nursing (MSN) from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana; a Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) from Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois; and an associate degree in nursing from Heartland Community College in Normal. She is certified as a nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
