Nurse Practitioner Focuses on Preventive Care in Decatur

HSHS Medical Group Family & Internal Medicine - Mound Road, 176 W. Mound Road in Decatur, will welcome a transferring family nurse practitioner.
Carmen Blomquist, MSN, APRN, is relocating from another HSHS Medical Group health practice to family medicine in Decatur. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who provides preventive care and helps patients manage acute and chronic conditions.
Blomquist values patient education and helping people take an informed role in their health. Her interest in prevention reflects a commitment to helping people stay healthy in their daily lives. Her previous HSHS experience includes occupational health, outpatient surgical nursing and neonatal intensive care nursing. Her nurse practitioner training included clinical rotations in family practice and pediatrics.
Blomquist earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. She also holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Illinois Springfield.
