Visitor Guidelines effective April 6, 2022

  • Visitors under the age of 18 continue to be prohibited, unless they are the parent of a child receiving care.
  • Emergency Department:
    • Adult patient: One visitor who may switch out, but not more often than every hour.. 
    • Pediatric patient: Two parents and/or guardians who must stay in the patient’s room for duration of visit.
  • Inpatient units:
    • Adult inpatients: Two visitors per patient who may switch out.
    • Pediatric inpatients: Two parents or guardians allowed.
    • End-of-life patients: Two visitors per patient per day. Please call the hospital (217-774-3961) for guidance in specific situations.
  • Surgery (inpatient and outpatient):
    • Two visitors who may switch out.
  • Outpatient diagnostic and therapy services:
    • One visitor may accompany the patient or wait in designated waiting areas.
    • Patients being provided outpatient services are encouraged to come alone whenever possible or have visitors wait outside until services are complete.
  • Patients with intellectual and/or developmental disability or cognitive impairments:
    • One support person.
  • COVID-19 patients or under investigation for COVID-19:
    • Visitors must check in with nursing staff before entering room to be provided with the mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) on for your safety.
    • Please leave personal belongings at home. Purses and bags are not allowed in the patient’s room.
