Treating The Whole Patient From Prevention to Diagnoisis, Treatment & Recovery
HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital has received the Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation, a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). In 2015, St. Elizabeth’s Cancer Committee reunited to create a Board of Oncologists, physicians, nurses and a variety of other health care specialists to develop a program that will meet the specific needs of our community. The Committee’s goal is to develop services and provide state-of-the art treatment services for the patients we serve.
The CoC Accreditation Program provides the framework for St. Elizabeth’s to improve its quality of patient care through various cancer-related programs that focus on the full spectrum of cancer care including prevention, early diagnosis, cancer staging, optimal treatment, rehabilitation, life-long follow-up for recurrent disease, and end-of-life care.
