Therapy Services

Occupational, speech and physical therapy are helpful for cancer patients from the initial diagnosis, through survivorship or the end stages of care. Cancer and its treatment sometimes improve physical abilities, but not functional outcomes. Therapy interventions, like St. Elizabeth’s Oncology Wellness Program assists those undergoing cancer treatments to improve their quality of care.

Radiation Oncology

HSHS St. Elizabeth’s is proud to bring several advanced radiation therapy technologies to our community so patients can stay close to home while receiving highest quality treatment options for their cancer. We invested in a state-of-the-art Radiation Linear Accelerator and CT-simulator, offer image guided radiation therapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy. Home Health

Home health services are available after a hospital admission through our HSHS Illinois Home Care. These individuals can provide comfort in the home setting along with support and education. Call 1-800-551-6566 to learn more.

Inpatient oncology social workers can help with home services, placement of patients, transportation, crisis intervention and community resources. Care coordination for patients is done through this service, especially in outlying areas. For more information, call 618-234-2120, ext. 21157.
 

Pain Management and Hospice

Pain management and hospice services can help patients and their significant others understand health care decisions to help guide a plan of care that is in line with their personal beliefs and values. The team also offers a comprehensive assessment of pain and other symptoms and can work with the patient's primary health care provider to improve quality of life.

Wound Care Center

The Wound Care Center at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital heals chronic, non-healing wounds. To learn more, call 618-234-2120, ext. 32742.

In partnership with Healogics, the center offers a comprehensive wound care, ostomy appliance teaching and continence services to manage chronic or non-healing wounds.
