Colleagues collect bedding

April 28, 2022

As a mission activity in March, colleagues at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese held a drive to collect bedding to support Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids who are sleeping on the floor. Pat Hempen and Marilyn Athmer, representatives from the organization, picked up the bedding drive donations recently. They shared how excited the children are when they see their new bed and the characters or design on the covers and sheets. Hempen said, “It is so neat to see how God places the right bedding for the right child.”

Pictured with the donated bedding are hospital colleagues and Sleep in Heavenly Peace representatives (left to right) Ashley Gramann, communications and marketing manager; Pat Hempen, Sleep in Heavenly Peace representative; Serra Morton, director of inpatient services; Sarah Hemker, case management; Nicole Schroeder, human resources generalist; Mandi Ennen, chief nursing officer; Sr. Pam Falter, spiritual care manager; Marilyn Athmer, Sleep in Heavenly Peace representative; and Kevin Schaubert; manager of emergency services.
