HSHS Medical Group expands services in Breese

HSHS Medical Group is pleased to announce we are bringing a urology specialist and adding new family medicine providers to our facilities in Breese.
Urology outreach
Urologist James Thu, MD, now sees patients at HSHS Medical Group Urology Specialty Clinic - Breese, located at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, 9515 Holy Cross Ln., Breese, Illinois. Dr. Thu also sees patients at HSHS Medical Group Multispecialty Care - St. Elizabeth’s in O’Fallon and HSHS Medical Group Urology Specialty Clinic - Edwardsville.
As a urologist, Dr. Thu specializes in disorders of the bladder, kidney and prostate. He provides medical and surgical treatment for cancers of the urinary tract, urinary stone disease, prostate gland enlargement and sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Thu earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Thu completed a urology residency at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Health System in St. Louis, Missouri.
New family medicine providers
Clare Chiarolanza, APRN; Misty Woods, APRN; and Kari Wiegmann, APRN, are joining our family medicine team. Clare and Misty see family medicine patients by appointment and Kari sees walk-in patients at Clinton County Rural Health Breese, located at 9401 Holy Cross Ln., Breese, Illinois.
As primary care providers, Clare, Misty and Kari care for patients of all ages and offer a variety of services, including minor procedures, general wellness care, well-child exams, women’s health care and acute and chronic illness management. As advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), they are highly trained health care professionals capable of diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, as well as medication management.
Clare earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. She completed a nurse residency program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Misty earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She received her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
Kari earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Maryville University - McAuley School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri.
