St. Joseph's named a top hospital

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese is proud to announce that the hospital was recently highlighted by Becker’s Hospital Review, a leading source of information on critical issues in healthcare, for being among the best in the country in three areas of communications with its patients.
Based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), St. Joseph’s Hospital made the list of top hospitals nationwide for physician communication and top hospitals for nurse communication, as well as top hospitals for staff responsiveness.
Mandi Ennen, DNP, RN, chief nursing officer at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, shared, “These survey results show the increasing efforts of our physicians and colleagues to enhance our communication and experience for our hospital patients. For example, when we make our rounds on all our patients, we ensure that the rounding team is multidisciplinary. Having representatives from several care disciplines ensures all patients have a full understanding of their care and discharge plans and gives them an opportunity to ask questions when all members of their care team are present,” she said.
HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital’s President and CEO Aaron Puchbauer added, “I couldn’t be prouder of our physicians and colleagues for being recognized in this way. This demonstrates the commitment that our clinical care team have to ensuring our patients feel heard and respected and are fully informed on all aspects of their care. It is goal to make every patient feel this way in our hospital.”
