Community Medication Take-Back Events
April 12, 2023
Green Bay – HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center and Bellin Health are partnering with the Green Bay Police Department for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), to offer Brown County residents safe disposal of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications.
Area residents will have the opportunity to safely dispose of these medications at two convenient Green Bay locations from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 22:
- HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, 1726 Shawano Ave. (near Emergency Department entrance)
- Bellin Health, 725 S. Webster Ave. (across Webster Avenue from hospital main entrance)
Medication Take-Back:
- Prescription and over-the-counter medications accepted
- Cross out identifying information on the containers
- No sharps
Those dropping off medications should remain in their vehicle and a volunteer will come to collect their items.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to rid homes of unused medications that create a public health and safety concern because they can be stolen, abused, accidentally ingested or improperly disposed of.
