Developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and its Committee on Trauma (COT), the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course equips physicians and advanced practice providers with the knowledge and confidence needed to deliver high-quality care in the critical first moments of trauma. Through a structured, evidence-based approach, this nationally recognized program strengthens clinical decision-making, promotes effective teamwork and prepares participants to respond efficiently and compassionately when it matters most.

Course Objectives
- Assess a patient’s condition rapidly and accurately using a standard algorithm.
- Recognize, prioritize and manage life-threatening injuries.
- Determine whether the specific management needs of a patient exceed the resources of a facility and/or the capability of a clinician.
- Encourage effective teamwork, humanistic/trauma-informed care, effective communication and recognition of opportunities to implement injury prevention.
