The council is a comprised of patients, family members, hospital staff and clinicians.  Members of the council participate by:

  • Sharing stories about their hospital experience in training sessions for nurses, doctors, and other hospital staff.
  • Helping to create materials and plans for improving health care quality and safety for all patients.
  • Providing input on how to improve our policies and care practices.
  • Giving feedback about their hospital stay, including what went well and what we can improve upon.

The group also focuses on programs and projects related to the strategic goals of the organization. A limited number of family advisor positions are available and an application process is required. Each PFAC member holds a term of one year. Meetings are held in the evenings at the hospital, quarterly. If you are interested in serving on St. Elizabeth’s PFAC, please email STEAdvisoryCouncil@hshs.org.
