PrimeCare Walk-in Clinic to close November 18

November 11, 2022

HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland has announced the closure of their PrimeCare walk-in clinic. Growing volumes in the hospital’s emergency department and the need for patient beds has led to this decision. The clinic’s last day of service will be Thursday, November 17.

HSHS Medical Group, Inc. is evaluating a solution to have a walk-in option within the Highland community.

“We, along with many hospitals across the country, are seeing a higher number of critically ill patients in our emergency department than ever before,” shared Teresa Cornelius, chief nursing officer. “Currently, our PrimeCare clinic shares space with the emergency department, and we often need that space for our emergent patients. To ensure our emergency department can see patients efficiently, we have decided to close the walk-in clinic.”

“We want to remind the community, that in any emergency, please do not hesitate to come to our emergency room or dial 9-1-1. We are here and ready to serve you with high-quality, compassionate care,” added Cornelius.

If you are not in an emergency situation and you need to be seen by a health care provider, HSHS offers the following options to be seen by a provider without a prior appointment.
