CT Scan
A CT scan is a computer assisted medical imaging technique used for diagnosing conditions that do not always show up on a conventional x-ray. St. Mary’s Hospital Imaging Center and Lab Service’s new CT machine, the Definition, proves its strength and flexibility while keeping patient safety in the forefront.
The Definition scans every beating heart at any heart rate and at the lowest radiation dose possible. It provides one-stop diagnoses in acute care, regardless of condition and heart rate. Our machine expands the clinical applications of CT, shortens the time of procedures, reduces radiation doses and streamlines workflow while providing high-quality images.
The Definition uses 64-slice CT technology, which enables us to scan a patient’s entire body in less than 25 seconds. Using more detectors, this state-of-the-art scan produces remarkable images with incredible speed and patient comfort.
