Concussion Care
ImPACT testing is a computer-based program that establishes a baseline evaluation of your child’s normal brain function prior to a concussion. The baseline test is used for comparison should your son or daughter sustain a suspected head injury during the year. The baseline test represents the athlete’s uninjured state, and can therefore be compared to their injured state for the best comparison.
In addition to the testing and comparison, each athlete suspected of abnormal brain function will follow-up with Dr. Scott Bilyeu, the medical director of St. Mary's Athleticare.
AthletiCare provides ImPACT testing to several local sports teams including high schools, Decatur Youth Hockey League and Junior Football League players. For more information regarding ImPACT testing, please visit www.impacttest.com.
