Celebrating Nurses and Their Exemplary Commitment to our Patients

HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital honored all nurses during National Nurses Week, May 6-12, 2026, and proudly announces the winners of the 2026 Nursing Exemplar Awards.
Good Shepherd Hospital’s Chief Administrative Officer Anthony Powers shared his pride in the care provided by the nursing staff. “Nursing is more than a career, it is a calling grounded in compassion, service and a steadfast commitment to others. Every day, our nurses bring their whole hearts to the work, delivering exceptional care to our patients and supporting the Effingham community with skill and grace,” he said. “We are deeply grateful for their dedication, their hard work and the lasting impact they make in so many lives.”
During National Nurses Week, Good Shepherd Hospital hosted the annual Nursing Exemplar Awards Ceremony. Nominations for various nursing awards were submitted by colleagues, physicians, leaders and others to highlight the above and beyond work of individuals who pursue excellence in their nursing role.
