Retired Flag Collection through June 12
May 30, 2025
In partnership with the local American Legion Post 81 and VFW Post 4829, HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital is collecting worn and faded American flags through Thursday, June 12 in honor of Flag Day. The collected flags will be disposed of in a proper flag retirement ceremony.
The community is invited to drop off their worn flags in the box at Good Shepherd Hospital’s main entrance, Rural Health Clinic or outpatient therapy building.
Coordinator of Mission Integration Lorrie Hayden shared, “We think it's important to offer a drop-off location for flags each year. Many people know they need to be respectfully disposed of but just aren't sure where to take them. These drop-off spots are convenient and available to the general public for several weeks each year."
