Jackie Jones, RN in the ICU, was awarded Colleague of the Year for 2020/21. Jackie was nominated by her peers as the April 2020 Colleague of the Month.
“Jackie is a great patient advocate,” read one nomination. “She is always there to help when needed,” read another.
Steve Kincaid, a supply chain inventory technician, was awarded Colleague of the Year for 2022. Steve was nominated by his peers as the March 2022 Colleague of the Month.
“Steve truly brightens the day of everyone he encounters. He frequently goes above and beyond with the biggest smile on his face,” read his nominations.
Events and programs were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the hospital is now able to hold its Colleague of the Year event once again. Colleagues of the Year are selected from the Colleagues of the Month announced throughout the year. Colleagues of the Month are nominated by their peers, selected by a Colleague Advisory Council composed of non-director role colleagues, and approved by leadership. Colleagues of the Year are voted on by the Colleague Advisory Council and approved by leadership.
“We are so thankful and overjoyed that we were finally able to celebrate this annual award ceremony again. Our colleagues are the heart of this hospital and our Colleagues of the Month exemplify our core values of Respect, Care, Competence and Joy,” said Matt Fry, CEO of HSHS St. John’s Hospital. “Congratulations to Jackie and Steve. We are lucky to have you as a part of our St. John’s team.”
