Auxiliary Donates $22,000 to Foundation

May 01, 2026

The HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese Auxiliary recently gifted $22,000 to the HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation to support the purchase of vital medical equipment and comfort items across several departments within the hospital.

The annual donation from the Auxiliary helps the hospital enhance the services and care provided to patients through the purchase of additional equipment and essentials that improve the patient experience. This year’s funds will go towards the purchase of a bladder scanner for the Emergency Department and for Surgery to purchase a surgical positioner.

“As we close out National Volunteer Week this month, I can’t thank our Auxiliary members enough for all the work and hours they contribute to St. Joseph’s all year round,” said Amanda Ennen, Chief Administrative Officer at St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese. “The money they raise stays local and help us respond quickly to evolving equipment needs and improve both the safety and experience of our patients and the community.”

The Auxiliary is a volunteer organization committed to promoting and advancing the welfare of St. Joseph’s through events, service and fundraising. Projects include the annual Used Book Fair, hospital Gift Shop revenues, quilt raffles, flower and bundt cake sales, in-kind gifts for patients and volunteer support at hospital events.

“The Foundation is deeply appreciative of the Auxiliary’s continued partnership and generosity,” said Emily Wilson, Philanthropy Officer for HSHS St. Joseph's Foundation Breese. “Their commitment allows us to invest in many more projects to keep local care accessible to all.
