Total Joint Replacement class now availalbe

There are often many questions associated with joint replacement surgery, both from patients to providers and providers to patients. To answer those questions, HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital now offers a total joint replacement class to educate patients on total joint replacement surgery as well as address any concerns.
“The information we are sharing in this class was always available to patients,” said Karley Thiele, manager of pre-admissions testing, pre-op and PACU at St. Mary’s Hospital. “But this class allows us to sit down with the patients and discuss expectations, outcomes, discharge instructions and post-surgery follow-up in an educational setting.”
Representatives from the hospital’s surgery, anesthesia and rehabilitation teams will provide patients with education on steps to take before and after surgery.
The total joint replacement class is held in room 561 on the first and second Mondays of each month at 9 a.m. and the third Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
