Emergency Care

HSHS St. Mary's Emergency Services Department provides treatment for patients with a staff of highly-trained medical personnel.

With a team of ER physicians, a physician is on staff 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Patients also have access to physicians from individual specialties who are on-call.

The Emergency Services Department consists of 21 rooms, with specialized rooms for trauma, isolation,  decontamination and behavioral health. HSHS St. Mary's Emergency Services Department is also the only Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics in Macon County, certified by IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health).

HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital partners with the Regional Trauma Center at HSHS St. John’s Hospital — a certified Level I trauma center and a certified Level II pediatric trauma center prepared to provide care for all ages at a moment’s notice. Learn more about the HSHS St. John's Regional Trauma Center.
