Wisconsin – Clint Schaefer, Executive Director of Security for Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) hospitals in Wisconsin is the recipient of a Patriot Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), established by the Department of Defense, in recognition of extraordinary support of employees serving in the Wisconsin National Guard and Reserve.

“The Patriot Award is presented to employers who not only hire Guard and Reserve members but demonstrate superior support to the military employee and his/her family,” said Scott Legwold, ESGR Wisconsin State Chair. “The National Guard and Reserve Forces are the cornerstone of our national defense. Clint has provided outstanding support and cooperation and has exhibited a patriotic spirit which is reflected in the significance of being a recipient of the Patriot Award.”

Clint was nominated for this prestigious, national award by Michael Aschinger, Manager of Security for HSHS hospitals in Green Bay, Sheboygan and Oconto Falls, and Command Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army Reserve.

“My role in the U.S. Army Reserve encompasses much more than the traditional one weekend a month and two weeks of service in the summer,” said Michael. “From the beginning of my employment with HSHS, Clint has provided a level of support and understanding about my service that can be very rare in the civilian sector. He is a model leader allowing me to both serve my country and our HSHS hospitals effectively.”

Clint serves as Executive Director of Security for all six HSHS hospitals across Wisconsin: HSHS St. Vincent Hospital and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay, HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls, HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, and HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls. He also served three years as a military police officer in the U.S. Army in Europe.

“On behalf of HSHS hospitals across Wisconsin, we congratulate Clint on this honorable recognition and thank him for his dedication and leadership in the safety of our ministries,” said Brian Charlier, Interim President and CEO of HSHS hospitals in Wisconsin. “We also sincerely thank all of our colleagues, like Clint and Mike, and providers across Wisconsin who not only serve our hospitals, but our country as well.”
