In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, HSHS continues to add to our staffing float pool to ensure we are prepared and ready to treat a potential surge in patients with COVID-19. As a member of the Staffing Float Pool Team, you will provide ad hoc assistance in a clinical capacity as needed at your designated HSHS facility. We’re looking for the following temporary – per diem/PRN positions: RNs and CNAs

Volunteer Opportunities

COVID-19 Message:

To our current volunteers:

The novel Corona virus (COVID-19) has had an impact on how we need to protect our patients at this time. We have all seen many things in the media that emphasize how we need to halt the progression of this virus by quarantine.

It is our top priority to make sure that the patients in our hospitals and the people in our community stay safe and are protected from possible infection.

Therefore, effective Monday, March 16, we ask that all volunteers temporarily suspend coming in to our hospitals and stay home for everyone’s ultimate safety. We will inform you when this temporary suspension has been lifted.

Please be assured your volunteer positions will be held for you.

Events like “Bring Back the Night” and “Hats Off” will also be suspended until we have received word that they can be rescheduled. Check with your local hospital for other events that are suspended.

All of our gift shops will be temporarily closed.

Please reach out to your volunteer leader with any questions or concerns you may have. We thank you for your patience, understanding and commitment. We are so very blessed to have you as part of our HSHS family.

General Information

Volunteers are key members of the HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center family. They help carry out the hospital’s healing mission while demonstrating the hospital’s values of Respect, Care, Competence, and Joy. Volunteers serve in 15 different areas of the hospital. Some have regularly scheduled hours while others serve “on-call” for special projects.

The partners of HSHS St. Vincent/St. Mary’s Hospitals is a special group of volunteers who socialize as well as perform service in the hospital. Partners run the hospital Gift Shop and sponsor other fund-raising activities such as Hats Off, Fashions from the Heart fall fashion show, uniform sales, and book fairs. The group meets for breakfast or luncheons and welcomes both active and associate members.

Thank you for considering the many volunteer opportunities at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center. By becoming a volunteer, you will make a positive impact on those you come in contact with. We understand your time is valuable and truly appreciate your interest to share that time with our patients and colleagues.
