Helping us to develop your pain management therapeutic plan

Man with back pain consulting with doctor and nurse

It is our pleasure to welcome you to our clinic. We understand that living with pain can be disruptive to your life; it can affect your mood, work, and relationships.

Because not all patients share the same symptoms, every patient’s situation is analyzed and an appropriate therapeutic plan for their pain management is developed and activated.

Getting started

Our goal is to treat the whole person, not just the pain, body part or symptom. Our program is designed to help a person with pain become part of the treatment team and take an active role in regaining control of his or her life in spite of the pain. When your lifestyle is impacted by pain, injury, or serious illness, we focus on helping you regain control and to resume your daily activities.

We’ll help you understand your condition and consider all of your pain management and therapy options including surgery, acupuncture, chiropractic care, living a healthier life, physical therapy, behavioral therapy, patient education and occupation therapy.

Use our intake form to tell us as much about your symptoms and situation so that we can develop your personal comprehensive pain management plan.

We are very dedicated to providing all of our patients with the most effective pain management. We follow a course of conservative medical treatments before undertaking more invasive pain management therapies.

Our pain specialist provides minimally invasive pain treatment services.  Treatment may include multiple sessions for consultations, injections, medications, and/or diagnostic injections, and may include physical therapy and RS Medical evaluation. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding the treatments and we will be glad to answer to the best of our ability. Contact your insurance company to see if these services are covered on your plan before your appointment.

What to expect at your first visit

The first visit at the pain clinic will include an initial evaluation, medical history questionnaire, interpretation of tests and x-rays, and a physical examination. The practitioner will then discuss the recommended plan of treatment.  Most injections are done with x-ray guidance for precision and requires pre-scheduled appointment.  Please note: You may or may not receive an injection at your first appointment.

What you should bring to your first appointment:

  • Completed and signed Intake Form
  • A detailed list of your current medications or the pill bottles and a list of medications covered by your insurance company. This enables us to obtain correct dosages and instructions of your medications.
  • Photo ID and Insurance Card.

Our physicians may refer to other specialists for the treatment of your pain. Typical specialists involved in the evaluation and treatment of pain sometimes include, but is not limited to: 1) Neurologist, 2) Psychologist/Psychiatrist, 3) Neurosurgeons, 4) Orthopedic Surgeon. These referrals will be at the discretion of the pain physician treating you.  If you are referred to another specialist, your continued treatment in the Center for Interventional Pain Management will require your compliance with these referrals.

Please notify the center if you cannot keep an appointment. This allows us to fill the spot for someone else.  If you do not show up or call to cancel your appointment, you will be charged a $25.00 fee (appointments canceled less than 24 hours will be considered a “no show”). Please note: repeatedly missed appointments may be cause for discharge from the Center.
