Community Invited to Celebrate Expanded Cancer Care Center
October 30, 2025
HSHS St. Francis Hospital invites the community to an open house celebrating the newly expanded Cancer Care Center on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Cancer Care Center has doubled in size, offering more treatment bays so that more people can receive their care in a comfortable environment close to home, reducing the need to travel when not feeling well. The center provides chemotherapy infusion services, as well as other outpatient infusion services for medications, blood products and antibiotics.
St. Francis Hospital’s Chief Administrative Officer Aryn Hunter said, "This expansion represents our commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive cancer care right here in our community. When patients are facing cancer treatment, the last thing they should worry about is traveling long distances to get their care. With our doubled capacity, we can now serve more patients in a healing environment close to their families, friends and support systems."
The entire expansion project was funded by private donations to the HSHS St. Francis Foundation, reflecting the community's commitment to ensuring high-quality cancer care remains accessible locally.
"We are deeply grateful to the generous donors who made this expansion possible,” said Paula Endress, Program Manager of Philanthropy. “Their contributions reflect the heart of our community and their commitment to ensuring that friends, family and neighbors have access to excellent cancer care close to home.”
The open house will give community members an opportunity to tour the new facility, meet the cancer care team, and learn more about the services available.
