Who We Are

Founded over 150 years ago by the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis in a small schoolhouse in Belleville, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is one of the largest health care providers in southwestern Illinois, offering specialized services in a technologically advanced facility in O’Fallon since 2017.

Our Highlights

We pride ourselves on offering advanced care specialties, so area residents have high-quality, compassionate care close to home without having to travel “across the river.”

• We are home to the region’s most advanced robotic surgery program, offering minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgery units for gynecology, urology, general surgery, orthopedic and pulmonary procedures.
• We offer a full range of cardiovascular specialties and pioneering life-changing interventions like the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and the WATCHMAN® implant.
• We partner with top providers at Cardinal Glennon, Saint Louis University Family Residency SSM Health, and many others.
• Our Obstetric Emergency Department (OB ED) is for women experiencing a pregnancy-related complication or emergency.

What’s Next

St. Elizabeth’s is in the midst of a $116 million campus construction project. This investment includes adding an ambulatory surgical treatment center and medical office building, expanding the emergency department, adding inpatient rooms, and making other infrastructure improvements.

By keeping care local, reducing patient travel and strengthening patient-provider relationships, we continue to grow our local economy and support our communities.
