The HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital Auxiliary has awarded four $825 scholarships to local students through its annual scholarship program, supporting the next generation of professionals in the region.
The scholarship is open to HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital colleagues, volunteers, and their spouses, children and grandchildren. Recipients are selected through a blind review process based on volunteer service hours, resume, letters of recommendation and a personal statement about their career path and goals.
The 2026 scholarship recipients are:
- Caden Klay, student at College of St. Scholastica studying physical therapy.
- Nicole Laskowski, student at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville studying nursing.
- Kinley Lucas, student at Missouri S&T studying mechanical engineering.
- Anna Maxim, student at University of Florida studying biomedical engineering.
"Each year, our volunteers work tirelessly to fund these scholarships, and it's incredibly rewarding to see that dedication translate directly into opportunities for students in our community," said Amy Bray, Auxiliary Volunteer Coordinator at HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital. "We're honored to support their educational journeys and excited to watch them make an impact in healthcare and beyond."
The scholarship program is funded through the Auxiliary Volunteers' fundraising efforts throughout the year.
