HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Foundation recognizes and thanks Scott Credit Union for a donation of $250,000 to support access expansion and additional technology and equipment for HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. This donation is part of a multi-million-dollar capital campaign.
Frank Padak, President and Chief Executive Officer of Scott Credit Union, said, “We believe investment in our community health institutions benefits all and proudly support St. Elizabeth’s commitment to growing services and access. This donation is an impactful way Scott Credit Union can give back to the community as well as ensure the latest and greatest technologies are available to them."
St. Elizabeth’s is currently in the midst of a $116 million expansion project that was announced in September 2025. This expansion of multiple service areas will enhance access to care, attract new physicians, and most importantly, keep health care local.
David Garris, Market Director of HSHS Southern Illinois Foundations, said the organization is grateful for the trust Scott Credit Union places in its mission and for the care the colleagues of HSHS St. Elizabeth’s delivers.
“Scott Credit Union’s generosity exemplifies their longstanding commitment to our region and the important role local businesses can play in keeping our healthy and vibrant,” Garris said. “Donations to our capital campaign are what allow us to go above and beyond to bring in technology that changes outcomes, fund programs that support families and our community, and invest in the people who deliver care."

David Garris, Market Director of HSHS Southern Illinois Foundations, Frank Padak, President and CEO of Scott Credit Union, and Chris Klay, HSHS Southern Illinois Market President and CEO, celebrate Scott Credit Union's $250,000 donation to HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital capital campaign which is underway to support the expansion and technology upgrades of the campus in O'Fallon, Ill.
Construction progresses throughout St. Elizabeth’s campus. The project includes the addition of 32 inpatient rooms on the fifth floor, 8 new treatment rooms and expanded space in the Emergency Department, a new kitchen and cafeteria on the 1st floor, plus the recently relocated and opened Registration, lab draw, and surgical home area just inside the outpatient entrance.
A new medical office, outpatient surgery and diagnostic center are also underway that include four operating suites and two procedure rooms for minor outpatient, same-day surgeries and procedures, along with clinical space for physician offices and expanded diagnostic services such as x-ray, CT scan, open MRI, bone density (DEXA) scan and mammography.
“This is more than a generous financial contribution,” HSHS Southern Illinois Market President and CEO Chris Klay said of the donation. “It is a recognition of the superior care provided by our physicians, nurses and clinical specialists in O’Fallon and the region and will ensure our mission of providing compassionate, leading-edge care for all people, especially those who are most vulnerable remains strong for decades to come."
Over the past decade, the Foundation has raised more than $16 million in support of the hospital’s mission.
