St. Francis Hospital Earns Dual Recognition for Excellence in Patient Care

October 06, 2025

HSHS St. Francis Hospital has been recognized on two prestigious national rankings that highlight the organization's commitment to exceptional patient care and safety
standards.

The hospital was named to Becker's Hospital Review list of hospitals nationwide earning CMS 5-star ratings for cleanliness, as well as the publication's compilation of top hospitals for nurse communication excellence.

Both lists reflect the most recent release by CMS of their patient survey hospital database using Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) surveys, which provides a consistent measure of patients' perspectives on hospital care across the United States. In addition to patients rating St. Francis Hospital highly for cleanliness, the nurse communication rating reflects how well patients felt their nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully to them, and treated them with courtesy and respect.

"I am incredibly proud of our entire care team whose dedication to excellence makes recognitions like these possible," said Aryn Hunter, Chief Administration Officer of St. Francis Hospital. "These honors reflect our colleagues’ unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety while providing compassionate, clear communication that puts our patients and their families at ease during what can be stressful
times. Every member of our team—from our environmental services staff who work tirelessly to maintain pristine facilities, to our nursing professionals who serve as the heart of patient care—contributes to creating an environment where healing can truly take place."
