Miracle Treat Day set for July 30

July 16, 2026

HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital is encouraging community members to enjoy a Dairy Queen Blizzard treat on July 30, as part of the restaurant’s support of Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals.

For every Blizzard treat purchased at participating Dairy Queen (DQ) locations on July 30 – Miracle Treat Day for 2026 – $1 or more will go to the local CMN hospital. Over the last 42 years, DQ has raised more than $195 million for the 170 member children’s hospitals in the United States and Canada.

As the only children’s hospital in Springfield and a member of the CMN network, HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital is hoping to raise more than $7,500 from this year’s promotion.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have a children’s hospital in Springfield offering such services as the area’s only Level III neonatal intensive care unit for very premature or critically ill infants and a newly expanded pediatric day hospital where kids can receive chemotherapy in a cheerful playroom,” said Mary Rogers, Program Manager – Children’s Miracle Network, HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital and HSHS St. John’s Foundation. “We are grateful to DQ restaurants, which are not only providing joy with a sweet treat to our communities, but also enhancing the lives of our future generations.”

Participating DQ locations in Springfield are as follows:
  • 1663 North Grand Ave. E.
  • 1742 Wabash Ave.
  • 3121 E. Atlanta St. (located off North Dirksen Parkway)
