Miracle Treat Day set for July 31

July 22, 2025

HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital is encouraging community members to enjoy a Dairy Queen Blizzard treat on July 31, as part of the restaurant’s support of Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals.

For every Blizzard treat purchased at participating Dairy Queen (DQ) locations on July 31 – Miracle Treat Day for 2025 – $1 or more will go to the local CMN hospital. Over the last 41 years, DQ has raised more than $185 million for the 170 member children’s hospitals in the United States and Canada.

As the only children’s hospital in Springfield and a member of the CMN network, HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital is hoping to raise more than $8,900 from this year’s promotion.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have a children’s hospital in Springfield offering such services as the area’s only Level III neonatal intensive care unit for our tiniest patients and a pediatric intensive care unit,” said Mary Rogers, Program Manager – Children’s Miracle Network, HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital and HSHS St. John’s Foundation. “On July 31, everyone can support our life-saving treatment that gets kids back to being kids by enjoying a Blizzard treat.”

Participating DQ locations in Springfield are as follows:
  • 1663 North Grand Ave. E.
  • 1742 Wabash Ave.
  • 3121 E. Atlanta St. (located off North Dirksen Parkway)
