Rick's Journey to Healing
After experiencing a cardiac arrest, Rick faced additional challenges during his recovery, including myoclonus (a brief, involuntary twitching or jerking of a muscle or muscle group) and the need for additional physical rehabilitation.
His daughter Mandy encouraged him to seek care at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese’s Almost Home Program.

The Almost Home program at HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital is a short-term rehabilitation program designed to help patients transition from hospital care to home.
Through a combination of physical and occupational therapy, attentive nursing care and medical supervision, the program helps patients regain strength, restore mobility, and safely return to everyday life.

Qualified patients who have been admitted to HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese or at other facilities for acute care can transfer to our Almost Home Program for their rehabilitation phase of recovery.
