Founded 150 years ago by the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis as Springfield's first hospital, HSHS St. John's Hospital is the flagship of Hospital Sisters Health System.

  • Our partnership with Prairie Cardiovascular offers groundbreaking cardiac care such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and WATCHMAN implants from internationally recognized cardiologists.
  • St. John's Children's Hospital offers the only level III neonatal intensive care unit in the region and is certified as a level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
  • Our Regional Trauma Center is designated as a level I Trauma Center by the Illinois Department of Public Health, offering comprehensive, life-saving emergency care.
  • We are Springfield's number one baby hospital. Our Women and Infants Center features a level III perinatal center for high-risk pregnancies.

  • For patients with claustrophobia, we have the region's only open MRI imaging system.
