We offer a wide-range of support services and care options

Clinical trials are the primary way tht researchers find if a new treatment drug or form of prevention is safe and effective in people.

Clinical trials are available for adults through NRG Oncology - a national cooperative group. To learn more, call 217-585-5640.
Home health services are available after a hospital admission. Our caring HSHS Home Care and Hospice staff can provide comfort in the home setting along with support and education. 

Inpatient oncology social workers can help with home services, placement of patients, transportation, crisis intervention and community resources. Care coordination for patients is done through this service, especially in outlying areas.

St. John's Infusion Center offers an outpatient area for chemotherapy, blood infusions, dressing changes and antibiotics.
Mind-body health services offers services for lifestyle management and mind-body health. Services range from mind/body skills instruction and mindfulness classes to individual smoking cessation counseling.

Radiation therapy offers state-of-the-art radiation for cancer patients. This type of treatment uses beams of intense energy to kill cancer cells.

 
Occupational, speech and physical therapy services are helpful for cancer patients from the initial diagnosis, through survivorship or the end stages of care. Cancer and its treatment sometimes improve physical abilities, but not functional outcomes. Therapy interventions used are holistic and comprehensive.
