Home health services are available after a hospital admission. Our caring HSHS Home Care & Hospice staff can provide comfort in the home setting along with support and education.
Inpatient oncology social workers can help with home services, placement of patients, transportation, crisis intervention and community resources. Care coordination for patients is done through this service, especially in outlying areas.
Radiation therapy offers state-of-the-art radiation for cancer patients. This type of treatment uses beams of intense energy to kill cancer cells.
Occupational, speech and physical therapy services are helpful for cancer patients from the initial diagnosis, through survivorship or the end stages of care. Cancer and its treatment sometimes improve physical abilities, but not functional outcomes. Therapy interventions used are holistic and comprehensive.
