Leadership Programs
Leadership at St. John's College of Nursing starts with action, voice and impact.

Whether you're advocating for your peers, organizing a service project, or helping shape campus decisions, student leadership opportunities are designed to help you grow personally and professionally.
Student Advisory Committee (StAC)
The Student Advisory Committee (StAC) is the official student government body at St. John’s College and a key platform for student leadership. StAC serves as the collective voice of students in college-wide planning and governance. Members identify opportunities to improve the student experience, lead initiatives that reflect student priorities, and collaborate with faculty and administrators on matters that impact campus life.
StAC officers include a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, elected annually by the student body. These leaders coordinate with class organizations, represent student concerns in formal channels, and help drive engagement across programs. Additional representatives and event leads may be appointed to support specific activities and communication efforts.
Participation in Standing Committees
In alignment with the College’s shared governance model, students also serve as members of select standing committees. These include:
- Student Affairs Committee – Focused on student well-being, support services, and policy input
- Curriculum and Program Evaluation Committee – Engages students in discussions about academic programs, quality, and outcomes
- College Operations Committee – Includes student input on facilities, technology, and infrastructure
- Additional subcommittees and task forces as needed
Student representatives are expected to attend meetings, uphold confidentiality, and represent their peers in a professional and respectful manner. Orientation and mentorship are provided to support student effectiveness on these committees.
