Safety and Security
St. John’s College is committed to providing a safe campus for students, faculty, professional staff and visitors.

A Safe, Supportive Environment for Learning
At St. John’s College, your safety matters. We partner with St. John’s Hospital Security and local law enforcement to maintain a secure campus and ensure all students have access to emergency support, safety procedures, and crime prevention resources. This page summarizes what you need to know as a student and how we meet compliance with the federal Clery Act and other safety standards.

For immediate threats to health or safety:
- Call 911 from any phone
- From a campus phone: Dial Extension 111 (emergency)

- Monitor campus facilities during and after business hours
- Provide access assistance for students studying after hours (until 10 PM, Mon–Fri)

Strongline Personal Safety Badges
To further enhance safety, all St. John’s College faculty and staff are issued Strongline personal safety badges. These discreet, wearable devices allow users to instantly call for help by pressing a button on the badge.
Strongline badges connect through a secure Wi-Fi network and send real-time location alerts to trained security personnel, allowing for rapid response in the event of a safety concern or threat. These devices are an important tool in our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and responsive campus environment.
If you're unsure whether Strongline is available in your work or learning area, please speak with your supervisor or the college’s security liaison.
Strongline is monitored 24/7 and managed in partnership with HSHS and local security teams.
